The Texas State Sociology Department now offers a Certificate in Social Research and Data Analytics. This program teaches students how to design research, collect data, analyze results using statistical software, and present findings to real world audiences. 

Students gain hands on experience with surveys, interviews, and focus groups while building strong data literacy skills that employers value. Career paths include market research, UX research, program evaluation, polling, and data analysis.

The certificate is automatically earned by Sociology majors as part of the degree and is also open to students from other majors who want practical research and data skills that strengthen their career opportunities.
